Chainlink (LINK)

By Cryptogeek | 04 Sep

ChainLink (LINK) is a blockchain project aimed at building a decentralized platform for bridging off-chain and on-chain data in smart contracts. Prior to ChainLink smart contracts were designed to work only with data recorded on a certain blockchain. The dev team behind ChainLink decided to dramatically widen the use of smart contracts via an opportunity to add such sources of data as API data, data pools, etc. Off-chain nodes store and transmit data for pay. The users can pay in ChainLink native currency, LINK tokens. LINK tokens hit the market in 2017 and the currency quickly made its way to top 50 cryptocurrencies by market cap. Later it reached the top 20. ChainLink partners with a large banking network SWIFT. The company is registered in the Cayman Islands.
