CryptoPolice is a project with an incredibly important mission in the cryptocurrency sphere. This platform is aimed at identifying scam projects in the cryptocurrency market. The company itself calls this activity "Internet Security 3.0."
Among the threats that CryptoPolice is going to detect there are phishing websites, scam ICOs, fake projects, doubtful job offerings, Ponzi schemes, fake charities, medicine-related frauds, and so on. It is true that all these things have their place in the cryptocurrency sphere so it is understandable that cryptocurrency-related crimes are going to be solved through the use of the blockchain-based platform.
It is supposed that CryptoPolice will provide a tool to integrate the community against scammers. The users will be able to submit the info about suspicious activity to the Officers who will investigate the case and let other Officers verify the results of the investigation. The verified and confirmed information is added to the blockchain so others will be able to learn facts about certain projects.
In 2019 it was announced that CryptoPolice decided to create a broader project called TrustSearch. Currently, the website http://www.thetrustsearch.com is set for sale. CryptoPolice browser extension Watchdog is available on Chrome Web Store but it's not clear if this product provides all the mentioned functionality.
This is a project I was betting on since its inception. Didn't really deliver, sadly.
