For over a decade, cryptocurrencies have been slowly working their way up the financial market. Bitcoins release in 2009 and implementation in 2010 started a trend causing more and more virtual currencies to appear on the market.

Cryptocurrencies are a product of blockchain platforms, where the coin is a way of rewarding the users on the network. While for Bitcoin, the platform's name and the currency are the same, the others don't follow the same trend.

For many years, people have been investing in cryptocurrencies hoping to make a profit. For some, it turned out great, but for others – not so much. The biggest mistake most people make is investing in the wrong cryptocurrency. As we've seen in the past month, cryptos like Bitcoin, Ether, and a few others have shot up in price. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for some of the other "less popular" coins.

The good news for you is that we can help you make a good investment choice. We make tons of predictions and the one we'll be covering today is Lisk.

Before we dive into our Lisk (LSK) price prediction, first, we will look at what the platform is and how it works. Then we will look at the Lisk price history and determine if it's a good investment plan.

What is Lisk (LSK)?

Several platforms enable developers to develop decentralized apps, and Lisk is one of them. Released back in 2016, the blockchain is a fork of Crypti, developed by the same team in 2014. Technically, both are JavaScript-based blockchains from the same creators, but Lisk has a few upgrades over the original one.

The price as of February 2022 $2.05
Market cap as of February 2022 $298,852,734

All-time high $34.92 (January 7, 2018)
Decline (compared to all-time high) 94.1%
All-time low $0.101672 (March 1, 2017)
Growth (compared to all-time low) 1931.6%

The ICO took place in February 2016, where the team managed to raise around $5.6 million in Bitcoins, about 14 thousand coins. Essentially, they managed to "sell" around 85% of the entire supply, leaving the remaining 15% for the stakeholders and developers.

At its core, Lisk enables developers to work on JavaScript and Typescript based apps. On top of that, developers can utilize a unique feature called sidechains. They are a part of the Lisk blockchain, but they enable the developers to customize them to fit the needs of the dapps.

As with any blockchain, Lisk has its own cryptocurrency called LSK. It is used as a reward on the network for the users that manage and maintain it. The coin is also used for voting. Since updates on the network require consensus from most of the users, LSK is used for it.

There are plenty of wallets that can hold LSK and one of the more popular ones is Freewallet. If you happen to have some LSK in your wallet or find the coin interesting, you must be wondering if it's a good investment option.

Before we go into LSK price prediction, let's first look at the price in the past.

Lisk price history

Lisk is one of those coins that didn't follow some of the "bigger" coins' trends. In return, it means that the graph is slightly different.

The coin appeared on the market on April 6th, 2016, with a price of a little over $2. The surprise came two days later when the price tripled, reaching almost $7, before going down below the $1 mark. The following month, another sudden spike of $3.41 followed by another drop below $1.

Over the next year, the price ranged around $0.2 and $0.3 with a slight dip around $0.15. A little over a year after it's release, it managed to reach a price of $34.92, or its all-time high. The price didn't jump overnight, and it had a pretty bumpy ride over the course of 6 months. A considerable drop followed the enormous spike, and by the begging of February 2018, LSK was worth $14.81. In the following week, the coin managed to rise above the $30 mark, reaching $31.70, and went back down to $7.5. The last significant increase in price was at the begging of May 2018, when LSK was worth $14.16. From that point on, the price starts on a slow decline streak before it began to settle down around $1. For the past two years, the price has been going up and down slightly, with minimal peaks and dips where we barely see it going over $2 and going as low as $0.5. LSK's price today is $1.26.

With the price history out of the way, now it's time for our Lisk (LSK) price prediction.

Lisk (LSK) price prediction

As you can see, the price doesn't follow the usual bull runs as some of the other coins do, meaning that the predictions can be somewhat complicated.

The first thing to consider is will the coin manage to survive till 2030. When it comes to that, it can go both ways. While it's not the first nor the last dapps platform, there are undoubtedly other more popular ones out there.

Let's take into consideration that Lisk will survive the next several years. So, what will it mean for the price? Some say or hope that the price will reach over $100 by 2025. As much as we'd like to see Lisk reach that price, it isn't likely. We predict that the price will keep this pace steadily for a while. There will be a few more significant spikes, followed by drops. As we've seen earlier, the difference between the price before the spike and after its decent is not the same. In other words, if the price manages to go up drastically, once it goes down, it should be higher.

By the end of 2022, the price will gain a few dozens of cents and reach from $2.2 to $2.6. The growth might speed up in 2023. According to several experts, in December of 2023, the price will be around $3.5. The following year, it can climb to a $5 mark and even cross it a little. By the end of 2025, we expect the price to reach $7.7 at best, not $100. We believe that gradual growth and development of the project will lead the Lisk's price to a $50 mark by the end of 2030.

Year Min Price Average Price Max Price
2022 $2.2 $2.3 $2.63
2023 $3.27 $3.33 $3.78
2024 $4.86 $4.97 $5.23
2025 $6.49 $6.65 $7.7
2026 $8.77 $8.99 $10.15
2027 $13.6 $14 $16.82
2028 $18.8 $19.3 $22.4
2029 $29.34 $30.15 $35.17
2030 $44.8 $46.6 $50

Conclusion

By now, you must be wondering: should I invest in Lisk? We would say to choose another cryptocurrency. While Lisk is not something that will be gone tomorrow or next week, the possibility exists. On top of that, the price is not something that will shoot up, meaning that you may not make as big of a profit as you want in the long run.

If you already have Lisk in your Freewallet, our recommendation would be to try and sell it (HitBTC, Binance, Cryptopia, Mercatox, IDEX, etc.). Wait for a higher price than the one you purchased it and replace it with a coin that has more potential.
